On the eve of women’s day, the Women Development Cell of Kandaswami Kandar’s College Velur organized a Awareness programme on ”WOMEN EMPOWERMENT IN THE NEW NORMAL : REIMAGINING OUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES” it was virtual awareness programme, the programme was organized via Google meet Dr.P. Swarna Kumari,Associate Professor and Dean of Research, PG & Research Department of Rehabilitation Science, Holy Cross college, Tiruchirapalli was guest speaker of this memorable event.

The programme was started with Tamil thai valthu, followed by welcome Address of. Dr.P. Thamizhcheli, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of History. Dr.N. Thangaraj, Principal, Kandaswami Kandar’s College, Velur-Namakkal gave presidential address, Dr. R. Somasundaram, M.D., President and Secretary of Kandaswami Kandar’s College, Velur- Namakkal, gave felicitation. Dr.S.Parvathi, Assistant Professor of Economics and convener of women Development Cell, Introduced the chief gust and provided the brief note on the programme.

Dr.P. Swarna Kumari,Associate Professor and Dean of Research, PG & Research Department of Rehabilitation Science, Holy Cross college, Tiruchirapalli, was chief gust of this programme. She delivered a speech on ”WOMEN EMPOWERMENT IN THE NEW NORMAL : REIMAGINING OUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES” she highlighted the new challenges faced in the newly emerged COVID 19 pandemic, how women can overcome the issues connected with the new pandemic, what are the role and responsibilities of women in this emerging doleful situation and so on. This programme was highly useful to the girl students and faculties, Dr.M.Aurnarani, Assistant Professor of Economics proposed vote of thanks. Then the programme ended with National anthem. More than 100 students took part in the programme.
