Report on International women’s day celebration, March 8, 2019

On March 8, 2019 International women’s day was celebrated in our college on behalf of Women Development Cell.  To spotlight on the talents of girl student various competitions like Quiz, Poem writing, Rangoli,  Mehanadi, Hairstyle, Art with waste, Fireless cooking, Drawing, singing etc., were conducted. More than 850 girl students took part in the function. Competitions were also conducted to the research scholars and teaching faculty to refresh them.

   Dr. N. Thangaraj, Principal Kandaswami Kandar’s College, presided over the function and Dr. R. Somadundaram, President and Secretary of Kandaswami Kandar’s College, felicitated the occasion.  Dr. S. Parvathi, Assistant professor of Economics and Convener, Women Development Cell welcomed the august gathering.  Dr. SakthiJothi ,  Freelance writer and Social activist, Director, NGO, Sri Sakthi Trust, Dindigul  was the chief guest of this  programme . She spoke on the various issues and problems of women in this modern era and how we can evade ourselves from those problems and so on. She also enlightened the students on various electronic gadgets which are destructive for their peaceful life. Her speech was very much useful for the girl students.

Mrs. P. Thamizhchelvi , Assistant professor and Head, Department of History introduced the chief guest. Miss. M.Shivaranjani, II MA Economics proposed the vote of thanks. Prizes were distributed to all the prize winners. Women teachers were honoured with memento.  The members of Women Development Cell
Dr. A. Arunarai, Mrs. B. Malathi, Dr. A. Vimala and Dr. B. Nirmala organized the programme in effective manner. All the women teachers and non - teaching staff took active participation in the programme.  Girl students performed the cultural events at the end of the programme.
